Becoming a member of the Queen Margaret Union is free. You only need to join once to stay a member until you leave the University of Glasgow.

Should you wish to spend your first graduate salary, or the last of your student loan (admittedly less likely) on something worthwhile, life membership is just £15.

We've tried to summarise everything you get from being a QM member below.

Clubnights - Membership gets you cheaper entry to all our smashing clubnights throughout the year. As a member, you can sign in up to four non-member mates to the building. 

Points! - Being a QM member can save you some dollar in the Union. The loyalty card system earns you points every time you spend money in the union's eateries and bars, and you can invest this back into the important things, like pizza and wedges.

Committees - You can attend the four regular committees that organise activities and events in Qudos and the bars, make qmunicate and raise cash for good causes, gaining yourself some valuable volunteering points along the way.

Elections - Being a member of the Union also entitles you to vote in QM elections, attend the super-important and surprisingly fun Annual General Meeting and even run for office yourself. As a voting member you get a direct say in how the QM is run.

Discounts - Your membership card gets you discounts all over this city, on many things from kilts and cigars to art supplies and retro clothing. We're constantly seeking to expand our catalogue of discounts, so keep an eye on the discounts page to see where you can save money.

Clubs & Societies - Membership also gives you the option to affiliate your club or society to the Queen Margaret Union, where we can provide free room hire for any of our four meetings rooms, advice and assistance with events and help with publicity.

Membership of the QM is membership of a huge, daft, diverse, hard-working community where anyone is welcome. It's singing the last chorus of the last song at Cheesy Pop long after the bar has closed.
